Frequently Asked Questions

An Insulated Glass Unit (IGU) consists of two or three glass panes separated by an air- or gas-filled space, with a metal spacer along the perimeter and a hermetic seal to maintain integrity. If fogging or internal condensation occurs, it indicates a seal failure, necessitating replacement of the unit. Frame replacement is not required unless a full window upgrade is desired, and we can assist with that as well.

Annealed Glass: The most common variety, annealed glass can be cut, machined, drilled, edged, and polished. It undergoes a controlled cooling process to relieve internal stresses post-formation. Not classified as safety glass, it breaks into sharp shards.

Tempered Glass: A type of safety glass strengthened via controlled thermal treatment, providing significantly enhanced durability. Upon breakage, it crumbles into small granular pieces rather than hazardous shards. Ideal for tabletops, shelves, and shower enclosures.

Laminated Glass: This shatter-resistant safety glass features two or more layers bonded by a plastic interlayer, typically polyvinyl butyral (PVB). Commonly used in commercial settings and the automotive industry.

Yes, window repairs and installations can be conducted during the winter season. Our experienced installation professionals will meticulously prepare the opening to ensure your upgraded window is securely in place immediately following the removal of the old unit, thereby minimizing any exposure to inclement weather.

No, we do not specialize in automotive glass services. However, if the required glass is flat and lacks curvature—such as in select vehicles or equipment—we may be able to provide assistance.
